One of clients in Chinbrook - SE12, called us after a budding graffiti artist, albeit not a very good one, decided to deface their front garden fence!
This client of ours is extremely garden-proud, so careful selection of cleaning solutions for this graffiti removal job was essential. Whilst cleaning the graffiti, we needed to prevent any accidental damage to his amazing flower and plant displays, at all costs!
The first step in our graffiti cleaning process was to apply the correct amount of our special graffiti removal solution. Careful application was important to ensure none of the solution got into the garden, potentially damaging the plants and flowers.
The solution was applied directly to the graffiti and allowed to dwell for 10 minutes before applying a second coat and aggitating lightly with a stiff brush. As you can see below, the solution doesn't take long to start breaking down the spray paint.
Once the second coat of our graffiti removal solution had been allowed to dwell for a few minutes, and eat further into the paint, the next step in our graffit removal process was to fire up the pressure washer and hit it with a steady stream of high volume, medium pressure water. When carrying out graffiti removal and fence cleaning work, it's important not to use too much pressure. Too much pressure applied to a fence or any other wooden surface, can damage the fibers of the wood or drive too much moisture into the wood, potentially causing it to rot.
'Slow and steady' is the way to go when using pressurised water for fence cleaning. Uneven or fast passes with the wand can lead to a streaky, uneven finish. Other than the small amount of our graffiti removal solution we applied to break down the spray paint, we used no other chemicals in our cleaning process.
As part of the cleaning process, we also tidied up the surrounding concrete posts and edging. Our client was so impressed with the end results of our graffiti removal work that he instructed us to clean the entire length of fencing. Of course, we were happy to accommodate the work and as you can see below, the results we amazing!
